About The Tsongas Center
The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell is a premier destination for sports & entertainment located in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Opened and dedicated on Jan. 27, 1998, the center proudly bears the name of the late Senator Paul E. Tsongas, a Lowell native.
The Tsongas Center located in the Merrimack Valley is home to UMass Lowell Hockey, as well as the secondary home of UMass Lowell Men's & Women's Basketball. Additionally, the Tsongas Center is also home to the Boston Fleet of the PWHL and the Massachusetts Pirates of the IFL.
The Tsongas Center entertain a wide array of visitors each year through the wide array of events hosted at the Tsongas annually. The venue has played host to an extraordinary of world renowned artists, including Katy Perry, Eric Church, Drake, Alan Jackson, Bob Dylan, Dropkick Murphys, Jay-Z, Shawn Mendes, Trey Anastasio, and Snoop Dogg.
The Tsongas Center will continue to be home to premier home for entertainment in the Merrimack Valley.
UMass Lowell
UMass Lowell acquired the Tsongas Arena on February 5th of 2010 from the city of Lowell. UMass Lowell renamed the arena to the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.
